The True Story of Sally-in-the-Wood
The section of the A363 going out from Bathford towards Bradford-on-Avon, before the turning for Monkton Farleigh is known by locals as "Sally in the Wood".
Sally was a real person and Crystal Payne tells her story with many references to historical documents and maps. This was originally published as a booklet and sold locally. When the booklets had all been sold, Crystal kindly gave us permission to publish this electronic copy on the website.
